TED EMANUEL –DEOKORO INAUGURAL Naturopathic Student Lecture Series

Dr. Emanuel’s  interchange with the students was fluid, easy, non-pretentious and non-threatening.  His effervescent dynamic personality found instant camaraderie with our gifted students.  He instantly became our “Uncle Remus”; a mannerism so endearing,  engaging and child-friendly, that by the end of the first lecture, our students (uncoerced) started referring to him as “Uncle Ted”.

All our students (ages 6 to 17) were quite sensitized, as they were enthralled, to imagine, or even contemplate the botulistic nature of the foods they had come to love.  On their own, they have been requesting that the canteen start including wholesome natural fruit drinks and brain-friendly foods.  I have never heard school children consciously request fresh vegetables and salads, at every meal, before.  I must submit that our students are far from being considered gullible, unsuspecting subjects; but are rather a bunch of logical, rational, contemplative, critical-thinking beings, whose questioning minds dissect and churn every bit of information before they accept any of it.  I watched curiously and proudly as 6 year old Victoria took Uncle Ted to task over the matter of “the unhealthy practice of drinking milk” one of her favourite foods, then yielding after his full-length, logical, fact-filled evidence of its demerits.

A new kind of revolution (and indeed resolution) has begun in our school, and Uncle Ted, with his many years of experience, and expertise has come to us at this pivotal time.  As a specie, we have long been interfering with the natural processes and nature of the wholesome foods intended for our healthy survival, and through this “Gift of health”, our students shall be the future bastions of health and wellness.
